HSE’s New to Industry (NTI) initiative is a great start for people who have no or limited experience in the mining industry. Our last NTI intake was able to offer 16 traineeships – 75% of these were female.

The six month traineeship educates new starters in the mining industry on the fundamentals of mining and provides practical skills.

For the first four weeks, the NTI operator works with a trainer on day shift. Soon, they are moved on to day and night rotations with their delegated crews. After 12 weeks, NTI operators are flying solo in a haul truck.

Operators who successfully complete the traineeship and consistently demonstrate behaviour consistent with HSE’s values, are often offered a position with the HSE team.

At HSE, we are proud to be part of a team that feels like family. We provide a flexible and empowering workplace, an inclusive and equitable culture, and a diverse and representative workforce. If you or someone you know is interested in entering the mining industry, please apply.

HSE offers the NTI program at both our South Walker Creek and Saraji Mines. For more information, go to https://careers.swire.com.au/go/HSE/4010201/
