This week we celebrated International Women’s Day with a morning tea in the Brisbane office.
International Women’s Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year’s theme is ‘Choose to Challenge’ – the idea that from challenge comes change.
We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. And collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
Several HSE team members attended QRC’s Women in Mining & Resources Queensland breakfast held annually to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event provides a platform to connect, nurture, and support women to achieve their goals within the Mining and Resources sector and keep the focus on improving gender diversity and inclusion.
Following the breakfast, HSE hosted a Diversity Forum to discuss diversity with representation from across the business. We are proud to have an established Gender and Diversity Program that provides a flexible and empowering workplace, an inclusive and equitable culture, and a diverse and representative workforce.
We also acknowledge that as a company and as an industry, our work towards gender parity is only just beginning.
